National Museum of Bhutan

Established in 1968 and built under the command of His Majesty the King Jigme Dori Wangchuck in the renovation of the ancient Ta-dzong. The National Museum in Bhutan collects a number of priceless finest Bhutanese arts, several fantastic paintings and masterpieces of bronze statues. Today more than 30,000 Bhutanese arts are fabulously displayed at the museum and some are over 1,500 years old. The museum becomes one of the kingdom’s most desirable destinations where a prefect blend of the present and past are gathering.

2. Chimi Lhakhang

Chimi Lhakhang

An about 400-year-old Chimu Lhakhang is a mystical temple located in Punakha and preserved by a monk and another 42 trainees. The temple has something to do with Lama Drukpa Kinley who is also known as the Divine Madman. Monk blesses visitors with an iron bow and a huge phallus.

3. Kyichu Lhakhang

Kyichu Lhakhang

Kyichu Lhakhang is the oldest shrine and monasteries in the kingdom of Bhutan. The belief has it that in the ancient time, a giant demoness laid across Himalayas area and also Tibet in order to obstruct the spread of Buddhism. To overcome her, 108 temples needed to be constructed to place on all points of her body and Kyichu Lhakhang was built and placed on the heart of the giant

4. Thimpu and Paro valley

Thimpu and Paro valley

These two valleys are the most visited attractions in Bhutan as Thimpu is the tranquil capital city which is not as a hectic as other big cities world wide and has remained its ancient-time charm. Paro is the country’s most developed city yet natural splendour are still widely spotted outside the city especially the Paro valley where a numerous majestic monuments silently tells visitors the kingdom’s heritage.

5. Mongar Dzong

Mongar is a fabulous town featuring a splendid waterfalls and a number of wonderful sightseeing, one of those is Mongar Dzong. The dzong was built in 1930s and has been home to the most spectacle traditional Bhutanese architecture for decades. Mongar Dzong is among the newest dzongs in the country although it was built almost a hundred years ago.
